5th Year Trip to Glendalough

5th Year students had a very successful trip to Glendalough last Friday. Led by the intrepid Ms Roe, one of Brunner’s most experienced mountain guides, the students made light work of the Spinc and were quickly enjoying panoramic views of Glendalough and surrounding countryside. Nine of the students stopped on the way up the climb to provide the rest of the school group and passing mountaineers with a master class in freestyle diving, making little of the near zero temperatures of the pool water. Rumour has it that one of the passing walkers was a talent scout for the Ireland Diving Team and that a couple of the lads have been earmarked as possible Rio 2016 Olympians!Diving for Brunner

The group returned to the lowlands via the Glenealo River with just enough time for a bite to eat and a short rest before the bus took them back to beautiful Brunner. For more on walks in Glendalough and other parts of Wicklow log on to www.wicklowwalks.com.
